Smashing Pumpkins are an alt rock band that got their start in Chicago in 1988. One of the most iconic bands of the 1990s, mixing several different musical styles including goth rock, heavy metal, psychedelic rock, and many more, they had a sound that was all their own. Unfortunately, drug use, internal conflicts, and slowing sales led the band to break up in early 2000.

Luckily, in 2006, Corgan and Chamberlin decided to remake the band to record another album. They are still together to this day and have released several more albums, EPs, and singles in the time since.
