Mannequin Pussy - Perfect (LP)

Mannequin Pussy’s first single, Control, came off this EP, as well as their second, the title track, Perfect. This EP contains both the smoothness of indie ballads, and the energy and emotional blast of punk rock. It often switches between the two from track to track. The sometimes jarring switches aid in keeping up momentum over the course of the EP.

Mannequin Pussy is an American indie punk band, based out of Philadelphia. They are noted for their mix of artful heart wrenching melodies and fast paced punk beats. Formed in 2010, the band has accrued and lost various members over their tenure. In August 2023, Mannequin Pussy bought the rights to their masters back from Tiny Engines, their former label. (Tiny Engines has dealt with legal troubles in the past over not paying their artists, including Mannequin Pussy.) Mannequin Pussy’s music has been featured in the HBO miniseries Mare of Easttown, covered by a fictional band native to the show.
