This design has one of our favorite bits of Mushroom lore. This logo has always been a mystery to us, considering we have no idea who made it. Read on and enjoy the brief history of one of our best-selling logos!

Once upon a time, many years ago, one of our coworkers was tasked with cleaning out an old desk that sat neglected in our back office. We were renovating The Mushroom at the time, and that desk needed to be gone quick. This employee was not particularly excited about the task at hand, but knowing the importance of getting it done, they rolled up their sleeves and got to it. You see, this desk was covered with old inventory and basically became a place to put unimportant things. All the drawers were filled with tons of random items, so it wasn't easy to sort through. They worked and worked and once they got down to the last drawer, they made an interesting discovery. Our coworker noticed some artwork sticking out from underneath a piece of paper. They reached into the drawer and delicately retrieved this mysterious illustration. They excitedly emerged from the back office to share what they had found. At that very moment, we immediately knew this had to be our next t-shirt and hoodie design. We thank you, mystery artist, of The Mushroom past. Your creation lives on!

The Mushroom is proudly the oldest Smoke Shop, Record Store, and Gift Shop in New Orleans since 1969. We have many generations of patrons who hold The Mushroom in a special place in their hearts.
