Behemoth is an extreme metal band from Poland, formed in 1991. They are considered to have played an important role in establishing the Polish extreme metal underground music scene. Until the late 90s, the band played a traditional black metal style with heathen lyrics but eventually changed to that of more occult and Thelemic themes. In 2007 they made it onto a list of bands that allegedly promote Satanism and murder.
