"Berserker" is death metal band Amon Amarth's 11th album which came out in 2019. Right before it was released, the band embarked on a North American tour as part of the band Slayer's final world tour, which also featured Lamb of God and Cannibal Corpse.
Amon Amarth is a Swedish melodic death metal band that was formed in 1992. The band emerged from their previous grindcore group "Scum." The name Amon Amarth comes from the Sindarin name of Mount Doom, a volcano and language found in J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-Earth. Their lyrics mostly deal with Viking mythology, folklore, and history, so they have also been labeled as "Viking metal." They still make music today, their latest release was titled "The Great Heathen Army" and it is their first that features the band members on the album cover since their debut album.
