"The Velvet Underground & Nico" debuted in March of 1967, a collaborative effort between the American group The Velvet Underground and German singer Nico. The cover of the album was curated by visual pop artist and producer Andy Warhol who also served as the band's manager for a time. When it was first released, the album failed to impress many critics and had poor sales as well, but would later on become critically acclaimed and highly regarded as one of the most influential albums in the formation of different alternative rock styles throughout the years.
