"Smells Like Children" was the first EP released by Marilyn Manson in October 1985. More posh critics highly criticized the experimental EP for it's edgy and avant-garde samplings and lyrics, including a controversial cover or two. The band's cover of "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" by Eurythmics became a staple on the MTV rotation and helped project the band into the music mainstream.
Marilyn Manson is a gender-bending, eccentric, theatrical rock artist known for his gothic industrial vibes and crazy stage performances. Manson picked his name by meshing together two of his favorite icons, Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson. He was found by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails in 1994 where he helped Manson record his debut album and then the well known "Smells like Children" the following year. These albums were recorded in Reznor's studio in Uptown, New Orleans. Which basically means we were neighbors.
