Le Chat Noir was a nightclub established in 1881 by Rodolphe Salis. It is believed to be one of the forerunners of modern cabaret. Theophile Steinlein created the advertisement art that helped the establishment stay relevant to date. The poster art can also be seen displayed in films such as Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Secret Life of Pets, and more currently The King of Staten Island.
