Down is one of the most epic supergroups to ever grace the planet. They are some of the leading pioneers of sludge metal and they were formed in our beautiful hometown of New Orleans. All the members of Down are from other famous metal bands. The singer is from Pantera, the guitarists are from Corrosion of Conformity and Crowbar, the bassist is from Goatwhore, and the drummer is from EyeHateGod and Crowbar. Their debut album, NOLA, was released in 1995 and took the world by storm. They did not tour much due to the fact that they all had other bands as well, but Down shaped metal music forever with their epic riffs, tuned-down guitars, and heavily distorted sound.
