DMX was an American rapper and performer who was born in 1970. Hailing from New York state, DMX broke onto the music scene in 1985 and released music up until his untimely death in 2021. Over the years of his career, he released over five studio albums, including an album released posthumously in 2021. He was credited with shaping the vibe of 2000s hip-hop, introducing higher energy and almost aggressive lyrics that impacted many of his fellow rappers' sounds throughout the years.
