Hailing out of Massachusetts in the mid-eighties, Dinosaur Jr (or known simply as Dinosaur back then) have been pioneers in the alternative rock genre since they first set foot on stage. Lead singer J Mascis drew heavy influence from earlier legends of the psychedelic rock movement and incorporated raw vocals and wavy tunes into their own, unique sound.
