Art Nouveau is French for "New Art." This art movement and style of decoration and architecture became popular from 1890 to 1910. The art is known to have curvilinear depictions of leaves and flowers, often in the form of vines. They created this style of art as a way to push back against imitative historicism that dominated much of the 19th-century.
