Albert Einstein was a German theoretical physicist born in 1879. He was known most notably for pioneering the Theory of Relativity and helped shape modern scientists' understanding of quantum mechanics. Along with other forward thinkers of his time, his work and study were crucial pillars in helping form the current models of our solar system as well as solidify our ideas of gravity and inertia. Einstein was born an Ashkenazi Jew, and in 1933 was forced to flee his home in Germany with the rise of the Nazi regime and came to America to continue his research and work. Einstein also directed his political efforts to support civil rights movements in America, he joined the NAACP and was an outspoken ally for people of color during the time, referring to racism as "America's worst disease."
