Grateful Dead - Wesleyan University 1970 Concert Print

$15.99
A lesser-known stop that captured The Kinks' unveiling of "Lola" and Grateful Dead meeting a chemistry professor with a knack for acid alchemy.

A free show performed outdoors on the grounds of Wesleyan University in Middleton, CT, this show is remembered among dead-heads as an overshadowed and poorly recorded middle show between two more significant northeastern performances. The stop fit in with their touring schedule and a band friend had graduated there the year prior. The Kinks also performed highlighting their new hit single “Lola” in the promotional material. Over 10,000 fans showed up to the student-organized event. A rumor circulated that a chemistry professor made them acid called “Orange Sunshine” and claimed it was the best on the East Coast.
