Deftones is an alternative metal band that formed in 1988 in California. During the first 5 years of the band, there were often changes to the lineup, with musicians coming and going. By 1993, with Cunningham coming back, the group largely stabilized. With this, Deftones was able to sign with Maverick Records and two years later released their debut album, Adrenaline. Since then, they have released a total of 9 albums, with the single Elite on their third album winning a Grammy for best metal performance and being certified platinum.
