Are Hemp Seed Oil and CBD Oil One and the Same?

Are Hemp Seed Oil and CBD Oil One and the Same?

No. Unlike CBD oil, hemp seed oil has little or no CBD.

The many differences between hemp seed oil and CBD oil derived from hemp include their availability, price, and effectiveness. Don't get scammed into buying an ineffective product.

Same Plant, Different Extraction Methods

The biggest difference is that hemp seed oil is typically pressed from the seeds alone. So it contains only trace amounts of CBD, less than 25 parts per million. CBD oil is pressed from the stalks, leaves, and flowers of the hemp plant, all of which contain a much higher concentration of CBD than the seeds.

Hemp seed oil still has many uses. It is naturally rich in antioxidants and healthy fatty acids like Omega-6 and Omega-3, which are good for cardiovascular health. Hemp seed oil is also high in protein, calcium, potassium, iron, and vitamin E. But it isn't CBD and it does not interact with the body in the same manner.

Beware of Misleading Claims

Another big difference between the two oils pertains to availability. Whereas hemp seed oil is widely available -- e.g., from Amazon and other online stores -- CBD oil is not. In fact, Amazon prohibits the sale of CBD products, including hemp oil that contains CBD, anything that contains THC, and hemp seeds capable of germination. The company also prohibits Amazon sellers from mentioning CBD on their product pages.

Intentionally or not, hemp seed oil is often marketed incorrectly. One reason is that CBD oil is more expensive. Another reason is that, with the help of clever packaging and branding, it's easy to make hemp seed oil look like CBD oil.

If you search for "CBD oil" on Amazon, you will get plenty of hemp oil products instead. Adding to the confusion is the fact that some online retailers, including Amazon, display search recommendations for CBD-related terms and that some consumer reviews erroneously mention CBD.

Buy CBD Oil From a Reputable New Orleans Smoke Shop

You can't enjoy the health benefits of CBD unless the product you're using contains a certain amount of it. So be sure what you're paying for.

To avoid getting scammed, buy only from trustworthy, reliable manufacturers, companies that are transparent about what they are selling. Buy CBD products that are tested by independent third parties and that come with a certificate of analysis reporting the ingredients and quality of the product: the amounts of CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids; the strength of the CBD; whether there are any harmful substances like mold, pesticides, and other toxins.

We want you to feel confident that the product you've chosen is the best one for you and that you're spending your money on high-quality products that work. Read the reviews, read the labels, look at the test results, and ask the knowledgeable staff at your local smoke shop to explain the ingredients, the dosage, and how the product works.

At Mushroom New Orleans, we sell high-quality, safe, reliable CBD oils and tinctures made from the highest-quality hemp-derived CBD.
